David I Urbina is a Ph.D. candidate in Software Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas. He holds a M.S. in Computer Science with a Major in Software Engineering from that institution and a B.S. in Computer Science from the Universidad Simón Bolívar, Venezuela.
His research and professional interests fall on the areas of Cyber-security and Industrial Control System Security. Currently, he is a research member of the Cyber Security Research and Education Center at the University of Texas at Dallas under the co-supervision of Dr. Bhavani Thuraisingham and Dr. Alvaro Cárdenas .
David is an active member of the Safety & Security Committee of the Water Environment Association of Texas (WEAT), for which he has helped to raise awareness about the Cyber-security risks and countermeasures on the water and waste water industry.
Member of Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and Golden Key International Honour Society.
Written and oral fluency in Spanish and English.
